ELECTION OF PARENT GOVERNOR
There is currently one vacancy for the position of Parent Governor on our Governing Body. We are therefore seeking nominations for the election of a Parent Governor.
The Governing Body at St Joan’s ensures that the distinctive Catholic identity of the school is sustained in every area of its life, and is responsible for making sure the school provides a good quality education. Together with the Headteacher, it sets the school’s aims and policies, and monitors the progress made.
Parent Governors are an important component in achieving a well balanced and effective Governing Body. Being a Parent Governor at St Joan’s can be stimulating, enjoyable and rewarding. A comprehensive training programme is provided that covers all aspects of a Governor’s roles and responsibilities. Typically, a Governor’s duties will average around six hours of spare time per month (reading papers and attending meetings etc). If you have the enthusiasm and desire to become closely involved in the running of the school, then please put yourself forward.
