Sr Winifred Science Centre & Hall
Providing excellence long into the future.
It is an exciting time here at St Joan of Arc with the development of our site and the provision of a fantastic new Hall and the Sister Winifred Science Centre.
The new building was formally opened and blessed by Bishop Paul in September 2024. To be able to share the evening with Sr Winifred’s niece, Annette and Sr Teresa, from the Daughters of Jesus. To be able to share the facilities and showcase their benefits to the school and wider community, on such a sociable occasion, was something we had all been longing for.
It is a beautiful addition to our school. A facility that the students can be proud of and an excellent environment for Science to excel in. The learning experience has improved and the options broadened with the labs and rooms fitted with the latest academic IT interactivity and new science facilities.
Along with our new Hall, which seats 400 students, is an inspiring learning environment. Alongside that, we use it for a variety of sports, cultural and academic events and hire it out to external events and community groups. The Hall allows for large assemblies to take place within the school, helping to foster the community spirit of collective worship that the school holds dear to its heart.
